About Me

My path in Art

Early life

  • I come from a small rural town in central Massachusetts.
  • I graduated from the University of Massachusetts where I earned a BS degree in Psychology.
  • I began working as an Accounting Clerk shortly after college and have been working in that field for many years.
  • I also work as a professional dog trainer where I can actually put my psychology background to use!

Art Life

  • In my childhood I dabbled with many different art forms including coloring, paint by numbers, watercolor painting, clay modeling, spirograph, and others. One of my fondest memories from school was art class. I recall modeling a ceramic vase out of clay and painting it with colorful shades of purple and blue. I thought my creation was somewhat remarkable, then a classmate grabbed it while it was still wet, and ruined it. I was heartbroken and still remember it to this day. Another recollection was a large geometrical painting of triangular shapes in shades of red, yellow, and orange. I’m not sure what ever happened to that painting, but it was one of my favorite accomplishments.
  • My three sisters all have wonderful artistic and creative talents, which I admire greatly. Artistic talent is not something that comes easily to me, but I have always yearned to develop my creative side. Over the years I have kept telling myself that “someday” I will create something beautiful.
  • I recently discovered acrylic pour painting as an art form suitable for those of us who are more analytical than artistic. The skills required for pouring include color analysis, composition, and the patience and skill of mixing paints and mediums to the exact consistencies which enable them to flow together on the canvas to achieve the desired result. I have found this art form to be the perfect balance of my analytical and creative talents. I have delved into it as a way to relax, unwind, and explore my creativity. I am enjoying creating colorful paintings and have created this website to share my creations with others.
